Three Leevale athletes will represent Ireland at the World Triathlon Grand Final

The World Triathlon Grand Final will take place  11 – 15 September 2013 using an identical course and venue to that used in the London 2012 Olympic Games. London’s Hyde Park has established itself as one of, if not the most iconic triathlon venue in the world. Located in the very heart of central London, Hyde Park was one of the best visited venues of the London 2012 Olympic Games with more than 300,000 people watching the men’s triathlon. 5000 athletes from all over the world will fight for world championship titles.

bryanBrian Keane will compete in the Senior Elite Triathlon on Sunday 15th. Bryan Keane was the first Irish triathlete to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in ITU cup racing and did so in 2009 in the space of 5 weeks. For the past 2 years Bryan has been battling his way back from a potential career ending accident after been knocked off his bike while out training in 2010. He has now put this accident behind him with the help of his medical team and is fully fit and aiming to excel at the World Championships.

 

 

Chris 2Chris Mintern, the top junior triathlete in Ireland is in fantastic form and will compete in the Junior Elite World Triathlon on Thursday 12th. In a tribute to his distance coach Donie Walsh, Chris can always be identified by the distinctive Leevale headband.

 

 

 

LizzieLizzie Lee, a member of the European Champion Cross Country Team will compete in the Aquathlon on Wednesday 11th. Lizze has already accomplished so much this seanon at National and International standard, will now compete in the Aquathlon Word Championships. Are there no limits to her talents and commitment?
