The standard was as high as ever at the John Buckley Sports 5K at the Marina circuit last night, as Mark Hanrahan and Colm Sheehan finished 1-2 and Sinéad O’Connor and Clare McSweeney took 3rd and 4th in the ladies’ race. Aisling Moran also had a good race to finish 6th, as did Eric Curran, who was inside the 16-minute barrier in finishing 9th. Also well up the field were Owen Casey, John O’Connell, Andrew Sheehan, Darragh Canavan, and the great Ken Nason, who were all in under the 16:30 mark. Colm Moore and Finbar O’Dwyer were just behind, making it 10 Leevale athletes in the top 25.
