Mark Hanrahan put in a great performance at the National 10K road championships, which were held today in conjunction with the Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park. Mark was first Irishman home in 30:20 to take victory in the national championships.
Alex Bruce Littlewood finished 4th in 30:55, and with James Grufferty 12th in 32:39 and Tim Twomey 24th in 34:19, Leevale took gold in the team competion by over 2 minutes from Rathfarnham; great to see a Leevale team taking a national title again!
Carmel Parnell made it another title for Leevale as she took the honours in the F55 category.
There was another big performance from a Leevale athlete this weekend, as Dennis Finnegan cleared 15.93 in the triple jump to take 5th in the Australian national championships. This is a massive new PB for Dennis, which would have placed him 3rd in the all-time Irish rankings were it not for the wind-assist of +3.7 m/s
