The road racing season continues in full swing, and the latest two races in the Cork area were the BHAA Garda/IPS 5K at the Marina on Wednesday evening, and the Youghal 4 miler on Thursday.
At the BHAA race, Chris Harrington showed a good return to form with a 2nd placing to Michael Harty in 15:31. Owen Casey was 7th in 16:19, Rob Patterson 8th in 16:24, Finbarr O’Dwyer 13th in 16:39. In the ladies’ race, Irene Hartigan was 3rd in the F35.
In the Youghal race, Darragh Canavan had another consistent showing, 4th in 21:39.
A number of Leevale athletes took part in the FIT Magazine 5K and 10K races in the Blackrock area on Sunday morning. The 5K race resulted in good wins for Colm Sheahan (15:33) and Aisling Moran (18:42), while Owen Casey was the top Leevale finisher in the men’s, 5th in 34:14. Darragh Canavan and Finbarr O’Dwyer were also in the top 10.
