There was a 1-2 for Leevale at the Midleton 5 miler last night, as Sinéad O’Connor transferred her great track form to the road, and Carmel Parnell dispensed with her age category to feature in the overall prizes. Sinéad was never challenged as she easily strode to victory in 28:55, while Carmel Parnell won the F55 by the proverbial country mile as she took 2nd overall in 31:09.
In the men’s race, Leevale also filled the top 2 positions in the M55, Colm Murphy and John Collins coming in a few seconds apart. Colm Sheahan and James Grufferty were 4th and 5th overall in quick times under 25:30, while Darragh Canavan also had a good race, 8th in 27:37.
