Santa returns to Leevale

Santa was back at the Leevale clubhouse today and was in great form as he approaches his busiest time of year. He greeted all the young athletes as well as parents and club officials, as well as posing for photos with young and old alike.

Club secretary, Caroline Philpott and Santa made a number of presentations to the juvenile athletes:

  • Zach Dinan (Most dedicated and hard-working athlete)
  • James Burke (Most consistent athlete)
  • Lucie Healy (Most improved athlete)
  • Tommie Connolly (Most improved – distance)
  • Suzie Lowe (Most improved – sprints)

A big collection of gifts was made for St. Vincent de Paul on the day – many thanks to all parents and athletes who contributed.

A noticeably-fit looking Santa revealed afterwards that he had taken up serious training himself during the year. Speaking exclusively to the Leevale website, Santa said, “I started putting in some big mileage during the year, and I got a PB last month in the Lapland Half-Marathon. I was well happy with that. Next year I’m even hoping to get in some warm-weather training”. No doubt, Santa will be back to us next year fitter than ever!
