There were some excellent performances for Leevale athletes who competed at the Tailteann games in Santry on Saturday.
Jack Murphy had an excellent win in the 100m hurdles. Trailing at the first hurdle, Jack powered over the remaining hurdles to take the lead with two to go and power away from the field to take a clear victory in an impressive 13.57.
Andre Christie showed great form to throw a massive PB of 54.95m in the hammer competition to take the silver medal.
Luke Horgan ran an excellent 1500m, tracking the lead athletes closely for the opening three laps. He responded to every move and sat in a striking position until 250m to go. At 200m Luke attacked and immediately opened up a clear gap and sprinted for the finish, winning the race in impressive style. Luke was also awarded the middle distance athlete of meet trophy.
Luke Ring & Matt Murnane also pricked up medals for the 4x100m & 4x400m relays respectively.
