AAI Juvenile Championships, Days 2 & 3

Leevale athletes were back in action over the weekend at days 2 & 3 of the AAI Juvenile U13-U19 Juvenile Championships. The results were super across the range of disciplines and all athletes who travelled were very competitive in their events.

There were double golds for Conor Morey & Reece Ademola. Conor was victor in the BU15 100m & 200m sprints, while  Reece won both the BU13 80m sprint & long jump with 5.15m

There was gold in the BU19 hammer for Andre Christie with a throw of 54.15m. Also in the hammer Padraig O’Callaghan finished second in the BU16 hammer with a throw of 46.17m.

There was silver for Robert Twomey in the BU14 200m and he finished just outside the medals in the100m.

Cian O’Brien was 2nd in the BU18 HJ with 1.80m and Des Kelleher finished 3rd  in the BU18 pole vault.

In the 1500m events Charlie O’Donovan finished 3rd in the BU17 and Luke Horgan was 2nd in BU19 event.

Molly Healy stood on the podium twice over the weekend when she was second in the GU17 HJ with 1.55m & second in the pole vault with 2.55m

Daniel O’Mahony was 3rd in the BU19 400m Hurdles

Tommie Connelly and Sean Condon both missed out on 3rd place on count-back in the BU14 & BU12 high jump events
