Leevale had teams in action in the AAI intermediate and masters cross country championships, which were held today in Tuam. Having won the novice title back in December, the Leevale men were favourites to add the intermediate title, which they duly did in style! Ben Thistlewood led the team home in 4th, followed by John Shine in 15th, Owen Casey 18th, Anthony Mannix 20th, Eric Curran 21st, and Dave Comber 37th.
In the masters women’s race, Carmel Parnell finished 24th overall, winning the F55 category once again and continuing her phenomenal record at these championships.
The Leevale M35 masters team also performed well, finishing 5th overall. The team was led by Tim Twomey in 5th overall, 3rd M35. Also in the team were John O’Connell (23rd), Donal Coffey (45th), Padraig Ó Dubhgáin (82nd) and Michael Creed (95th).
