Medal Rush for Leevale Athletes at World Masters

The World Masters Athletics Championships are taking place in Lyon at the moment, and during the past week two of Leevale’s finest athletes have been in action. Carmel Parnell and Pat Moore showed that they are ageless as both won medals for the Irish team.

Carmel has been competing throughout the week. Her first race in the W60 category was the 8K where she won gold, taking victory in the race by the proverbial country mile. She followed this up with a silver in the 5K, and a second gold followed in the 10K.

In the javelin, Pat Moore delivered an excellent performance to win bronze in what was a very competitive event. Well done to both athletes on this great and well-deserved achievement.
