The Munster Junior & U23 Championships were held in conjunction with the juvenile multi-events at CIT Track today.
It was great to see so many young Leevale athletes compete and have fun in the multi-events. Reece Ademola won the BU13 event with a points total of 1756, his 1.60m HJ would have been a CBP in the individual championships. In the Bu14 Tommie Connolly went into the last event in 5th place a strong run of 2.24.40 secured the bronze medal for him.
In the junior women there were wins for Louise Shanahan in the 400m (58.3) and Rhona Pierce in the 1500m (4:48.5). There were 2.70m PBs for Una Samuels & Molly Healy in the pole vault, finishing 2nd & 3rd respectively.
In the junior men there was a superb win the the 800m for Conor O’Driscoll (1:57.8) from his club mates Luke Horgan (1:58.8) and Matt Murnane (2:00.5). Sean O’Callaghan took silver in the 400m (51.5).
In the U23 men Kodi Ogbene won the 100m in 11.03 and took bronze in the 200m in 22.56.
