Hurdles (& Sprints) coaches workshop on planning for the outdoor season
Where? IRISH SPORTS HQ, BLANCHARDSTOWN, DUBLIN
When? SUNDAY MARCH 22nd (11 am. to 2 pm approx)
Who? HURDLES & SPRINTS COACHES (&/or anyone else who is interested in the topic)
What & Why? Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what kind of training should be done in the weeks between the end of the indoor season and the start of the outdoor season (sometimes the two are only a few weeks apart). This workshop will help you decide what is best for your athletes to concentrate on during this period and will help you (the coach) plan for the outdoor season. If you haven’t already agreed with your athletes which competitions they athletes will take part in, we will discuss the options available and also how you can tailor your training programme to the specific needs of your training group without you having to oversee numerous sessions on one day OR limiting everyone to the one session. Training SMART, not necessarily HARD applies more to you as coaches as it does to the athletes you coach! I’ll also go over the writing of training sessions/programmes in relation to ‘training outcomes’.
Please let me know if you plan on attending the workshop as the entrance to Sport HQ has a barrier entrance & I will need to give a list of attendees to the security person.
