The summer road racing season is well underway, and every week there is a range of events to choose from. The weekend, Nollaigh O’Neill won the Blackwater 10 miler, a new race on the calendar that was held near Fermoy. At another new race, the Bweeng 6K, Tim Twomey won the overall honours and Finbar O’Dwyer was 3rd.
On Friday Carol Finn was in action in the 5 miler in Galbally, Co. Limerick, where she finished 2nd.
On Thursday evening, James Grufferty got back to winning ways at the Eagle AC 4 miler in Fota, having 30s to spare over the field in 21:19. Fionnuala Desmond finished 4th in the ladies’ race.
