Leevale Athletes To The Fore Over The Weekend

On Saturday Lizzie Lee was a member of the gold-winning European Team at Edinburg International Cross Country. Lizzie made her way through the field to finish 9th in 21:51 to help the European women’s team to a decisive victory over Great Britain and the USA.

The rescheduled Waterford half-marathon was held on Saturday where Clare Gibbons-McCarthy won the women’s race in a time of 1:16:45 and Mark Hanrahan finished 2nd in the men’s race in 1:05:09.

At the BHAA Cross Country Challenge in Beaumont Park on Sunday morning, Darren Molloy finished 2nd overall, Josh O’Sullivan-Hourihan 4th and Finbarr O’Dwyer 1st M40.
