Approaching the 50th anniversary of the formation of the club, Leevale delivers a dedicated High Performance Centre for its athletes. On Monday evening Leevale officials and coaches received a preliminary viewing of the new ‘High Performance Centre’. The finishing touches are currently being undertaken by Chris Harrington and his team at C.Harrington Construction. They have gone the extra mile at every stage of the project and have managed to deliver the club with a state of the art dedicated athletics facility.
The centre has fully equipped free weights gym, specifically designed and tailored to meet the strength & conditioning requirements of athletes.
The main hall which is temperature & climate-controlled is completely Mundo surfaced and incorporates;
- Sprints & hurdles straight
- Pole vault
- High Jump
- Long Jump
- Throws cage
The club has also invested in technology to bring sports science to athletes & coaches, including;
- Treadmills with VO2 MAX
- Embedded force plate for the measurement of: force direction, contact time, force.
- Video Analysis
The building also includes a large meeting room which can convert to a presentation room for athlete seminars.
The High Performance Facility will commence operation on January 3rd and an official opening will be scheduled at a future date.
