After an incredible 2015, Leevale’s Lizzie Lee was crowned the Evening Echo Ladies Sport Star of the Year. The award took place at a ceremony yesterday in the Rochestown Park Hotel. As winners of monthly awards during 2015, both Lizzie and Michelle Finn were shortlisted for the overall prize.
Lizzie won the award in recognition of a superb year, which included her qualification for the Rio Olympics, finishing 2nd in the National Cross Country Championships, captaining the Irish team to bronze medals in the European Championships, and helping the European team to victory at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country. This is a hugely well deserved achievement for Lizzie.
