Leevale senior athletes traveled to Athlone to compete in Round 1 of the National Senior League. The men’s team were helped by wins in the walk for Alex Wright and Dave Tierney in the 56lb, while the women’s team had good wins in the distance events Andrea Bickerdike (800m), Niamh Roe (1500m), Michelle Kenny (3K), as well as Sarah Bradfield in the discus. After the day’s events, Leevale lie in 5th position overall in the men’s competition and 4th in the women’s, which is a solid performance.
