There were two road races locally yesterday, the Cloyne Commons 4K and the annual Eagle AC 5 miler in Carrigaline.
At the Cloyne race, Leevale’s juniors were to the fore, as schools’ athletes Charlie O’Donovan and David Fox finished clear of Philip Crowley, making it a Leevale 1-2-3. Local man Darragh Canavan finished in 5th.
In Carrigaline, Michael Bruton was the first Leevale finisher in 6th, and with Chris Murphy, Finbarr O’Dwyer, Padraig Ó Dubhgáin and Tim Crowley all inside the top 20, Leevale won the team competition. In the F40 category, Helen Leonard finished 3rd.
