This year’s Irish Life Health National Novice and Juvenile Uneven Ages Cross Country Cross Country Championships took place in the WIT Sports Arena, Waterford, Sunday 17th December.
Leevale women took silver in the team prize. Lisa Hegarty led the team home in 10th place, followed by Andrea Bickerdike 32nd, Jessica Bruton 38th and Rosaleen MacKeown 47th.
Leevale men were the 3rd team over the line taking bronze, led by Conor McCauley 24, Brian Kearney 32, Donal Coakley 34 and Mark Walsh 36.
In the juvenile races the U13 girls team consisting of Máire Hynes McGlaughlin (who made the Cork team), Claire Crowley, Katie O’Keffe, Aine Power, Hannah Arrigan & Emma Buttimer who are Munster cross country medalists, finished a very creditable 6th even with some team members recovering from sickness & injury.
Also making her debut for the Cork team in the U11 race was Simone Looney who ran well.
