Ireland trio of Alex Wright, Cian McManamon, and Robert Heffernan made history at the European Race Walking Cup in Podebrad, Czech Republic, earning a brilliant bronze in the men’s 20km. Alex led the team home with a 6th place finish, followed by Rob in 13th and Cian in 26th.
The Cork-based walks group, set up by Rob Heffernan, bring great success to Ireland. This concept can be a basis for developing athletics in Ireland.
