The Leevale senior women’s team had a great run today at the European Clubs Cross Country in Mira, Portugal. In a race which was dominated by exceptionally strong Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish teams, every one of the Leevale women ran great races to finish in 7th place overall, just 3 points behind the British and ahead of France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark among others.
Lizzie Lee lead the team home in 17th place, followed by Michelle Finn in 22nd. Sinead O’Connor ran a super race to cross the line in 31st, followed by Claire McCarthy in 38th. Michelle Kenny and Carol Finn finished 51st & 56th respectively.
This was another momentous day in the clubs history, once again representing Ireland at a European Championships.
