The Leevale women’s team of Michelle Finn, Lizzie Lee, Claire McCarthy, Sinead O’Connor and Carol Finn are Cork City Sports Athletes Of The Month for November. They received the award for their outstanding performance in winning the national senior cross country title for the second time in the history of the club.
The team have now qualified to compete at the European Club’s Cross Country Championships which will be held in Mira, Portugal on February 4th.
The award was presented at a ceremony in the River Lee Hotel. Also in attendance were the Lord Mayor for Cork City, Councillor Tony Fitzgerald and sponsors Cork’s 96FM/C103 and the Evening Echo.
