Message From The Chairman

Dear Leevale Athlete/Parent,

The 2018 season draws to a close, and it has been another great year for the Club. Once again we are the top juvenile club in the country, across more and more disciplines.  For the fourth year in succession we are the top junior men’s club, and they head back Portugal to represent Ireland at the European Junior Clubs Cup. Our senior women retained their senior cross country title and will once again represent Ireland at the European Clubs Cross Country in February.  Michelle Finn represented Ireland is the 3K at the  European T&F Championships and at the European Cross Country Championships last weekend.  Alex Wight (Athletes Ireland Endurance Athlete Of the Year) competed in the 20K walk at the European Championships, finishing 10th.   Lizzie Lee won the national marathon and led the Leevale women to victory in a new national record. Orla Barry took  gold in the discus at the European Para Championships in Berlin. Annette Quaid won bronze in the 800m at the European Indoor Master Championships in Madrid. Michelle Kenny led the Irish Women’s W35 team to silver at the European Masters 5K Cross-Country in Madrid.

Young athletes, Conor Morey, Colin Doyle, Harry Nevin, Wymin Sivakmur, Kate Moynihan, Daniel Hurley, Mark Jones, all secured international selection during the year.
