The International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games concluded in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the weekend. The games have taken place over six days, featuring more than 500 athletes from 50 countries competing in seven sports – athletics, swimming, archery, badminton, shooting, table tennis and wheelchair fencing.
Leevale athlete Cian O’Neill was on podium on two occasions, when he finished 2nd in the seated discus and 3rd in seated javelin. Cian trains at the Leevale High Performance Centre with coach John McCarthy.
