Strong Performances & International Selections At The AAI Junior & U23 Championships

Leevale athletes travelled in strength to compete at the 2019 Athletics Ireland Junior & U23 Championships in Tullamore on Saturday, July 6th. Leevale men were casing the top junior mens club for a consecutive 5th year, while Leevale junior women were travelled with the mission of finishing top women’s club.

In a great exhibition of teamwork, both the women and mens teams scored across a wide range of track & field events and must now await confirmation if they have done enough to qualify for the European Junior Clubs Cup of 2020.

There were celebrations last night for Conor Morey and Ryan O’Leary who received European U20 Championships Selections. Conor was selected for the 100m and 4x100m relay, while Ryan receives his first Irish cap for the 4x100m relay.  They will head to Boras, Sweden from the championships, July 18th – 21st.
