Round 2 of the Kia Race Series brought runners from all corners of Ireland to Kilkenny City for the annual “Streets of Kilkenny” 5k road race on Holy Thursday.
The 2022 running of the event had a very popular winner, with Lizzie Lee (Leevale AC) holding off Maria McCambridge and club-mate Jessica Coyne to take the women’s race in 16:31, lead females, where Coyne, McCambride and Lee were nip and tuck throughout. Lizzie took the win and led the Leevale AC team home to their second top of the podium finish in the Kia Race Series team series. Leevale team are now on 20 points, just 2 ahead of DSD.
The Kia Race Series moves on to Enfield for the annual Bob Heffernan and Mary Hanley 5k on Tuesday, May 18th at 8pm. It’s another fast course.
