Athletics Ireland has confirmed the selection of 8 athletes, including 2 from Leevale for the forthcoming World Athletics U20 championships to be held in Cali, Colombia from August 1st to 6th.
Lucy May Sleeman has been in flying form all season, unbeaten in her age group and junior over 100m & 200m distances has been selected to compete in both sprint events.
Reece Ademola achieved the Long Jump qualification standard at Cork City Sports , with a 7.68m jump. Over the weekend he bettered that when he set a new National Junior record with a 7.76m jump.
These athletes now get the opportunity to compete against the best in the World, we congratulate them on the achievement and wish them every success. This is the beginning of the next chapter of their athletics carrier.
