Una Brice Is The Cork City Sports Athlete Of The Month For May

Congratulations to Una Brice for being awarded the Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month for May! Una’s achievements during the month were truly remarkable. She successfully defended her Munster Schools Senior Girls pole vault title, showcasing her skill and dedication in the sport. In addition, she claimed victory in the Munster Junior (under 20) club championship and emerged as the champion in the Senior Women’s pole vault event at the National May Open competition held in Templemore.

Una’s track record speaks volumes about her talent and hard work. Notably, she holds the Irish national Girls Under 18 record in pole vault, highlighting her exceptional ability in the discipline. Furthermore, she currently holds the titles of Irish Schools senior girls champion and Irish Junior and Senior women’s champion in pole vault. Her accomplishments also includes winning the women’s pole vault competition at last year’s Cork City Sports.

In the autumn Una will head State side to take up a sports scholarship at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she will endeavour to reach new heights. 

Una’s consistent success and continuous improvement in pole vaulting make her a deserving recipient of the Athlete of the Month award. Her dedication, perseverance, and talent have undoubtedly elevated her performance and set her apart in the sport
