Interclub Juvenile Competition – Result

Leevale juvenile athletes travelled to Nenagh yesterday to participate in the inaugural triangular T&F meet. Athletes from U9-U16 were encouraged to take part in four events: sprint, middle distance, long jump and relay where they competed for points for their club. The prize for the club with the greatest number of points was the Joe Nagle perpetual memorial trophy.

Two buses and a fleet of cars were required to take over 90 Leevale athletes to Nenagh. Ferrybank and Nenagh also turned out in force with approximately 250 athletes competing in all. The event was very well organised and a total of 68 races and 16 long jump competitions were completed in a four hour period.

Special acknowledgement to Donal O’Callaghan (Leevale), Denis Finnerty (Nenagh Olympic) & Brid Golden (Ferrybank) for the work they put in to organising and arranging this hugely successful event. The concept of a friendly, fun & competitive meet was completely captured.

Leevale athletes posted an impressive points total of 1455 to win the Joe Nagle perpetual memorial trophy.

Thanks to Nenagh for hosting this event and for providing a banquet of food for everyone. This event is now firmly fixed in the calendars of the three clubs.
