The big events this weekend were the AAI Indoor Games & Combined Events and the Dungarvan 10 Mile road race. There were Leevale athletes in action at both events.
The indoor championships were the first events to be held at the new Athlone IT indoor arena. There were good wins for Dave Tierney in the shot and 56lb events as well as David Quilligan in the long jump.
At Dungarvan, Lizzie Lee had another good win, while Chris Harrington was first Leevale finisher in the men’s race. The Leevale women also won their team event.
