At the start of a busy few days for road races, the Shanagarry 5 miler took place last night. Helen Leonard was the top Leevale finisher, 2nd in the ladies’ event, while the ever-consistent John O’Leary took the honours in the M70 category.

At the same time, the Daniel Kingston 5K took place in Macroom, also drawing a large crowd.
At the Courtmacsherry-Timoleague 10K on Friday, Cillian Ó Tuama took overall victory and Colm Murphy won the M55 category, finishing 8th overall. At the same time, another 10K was taking place in Milstreet where local athletes Carol Finn and John O’Connell finished 2nd and 4th respectively in the women’s and men’s events.
