There were solid performances for Leevale athletes at round one of the National Leagues. Both the men and women teams took second place in their division; the women scored 99 points from 15 events and the men scored 106 points from 17 events.
The men scored maximum points in the Walk – Luke Hickey, 4x100m Relay, Hammer – James Heffernan, Long Jump David Quilligan, High Jump – Sam Healy & Javelin – Paddy Moore.
The women’s team scored maximum points in 100m Hurdles – Jayne Pennefather, 400m Hurdles – Jessica Neville, 400m – Louise Shanahan, 800m – Clare McSweeney & 4x400m Relay.
Both teams are well positioned going into round two, which will be held on June 22nd.
