It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of our friend and Leevale junior athlete David Leahy.
No words are enough to say what is felt by David’s friends at Leevale, it is a devastating shock to all of us that David is gone. It was a pleasure to know David and we are deeply saddened to think that we will be without him.
David was part Leevale’s throwing group and he trained with us every week. It was a pleasure to be around David, he was always ready to do his best and his passion was for javelin throwing.
David won his share of athletics titles but it is his good nature that we will remember most. David was very good with the younger athletes and would often be seen offering advice and a smile to get them going. This was lovely to see and set David apart as a great clubman. David will be missed by all his friends at Leevale.
Leevale would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to David’s mum Debbie, dad Tony and the Leahy family. May you find comfort in this difficult and trying time.
May he rest in peace.
