We are saddened to announce the death of Donal Cronin father of Colm Cronin.
Funeral Arrangements:
CRONIN (Old Friary Place, Shandon Street , Cork) On October 23rd 2015 peacefully in the presence of his loving family and in the dedicated care of the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Luke’s Home, DONAL (late of Wm Egan & Son, Jewellers, Patrick St.) dearly beloved husband of Frances (nee Coughlan), devoted and loving dad of Colm, Paul, Donal and Fintan. Sadly missed and deeply mourned by his loving wife, sons, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, daughters-in-law, brother-in-law John, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.
Reposing at O’Connor Bros. Funeral Home, North Gate Bridge. Rosary on Tuesday at 6:30pm followed by removal to the Cathedral. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11:00am. Funeral afterwards to St. Joseph’s Cemetery
I met Donal many times when his sons Colm,Paul and Donal starred for Leevale. A tall elegant gentleman , always seemed calm and assured. With his wife Frances , to me their home at ( that wonderful address ),Old Friary Place, always had an air of peace, confidence , ambition and respect.
Men like Donal are the bedrock of what is best in our society.
May he rest in peace.
