On Thursday evening Lizzie Lee had her final race at home before she heads off to make her final preparations for the Olympic Marathon in Rio de Janeiro. The EMC/BHAA 4 Miler in Ovens was the event, and Lizzie comfortably won the women’s race in 21:36 and was 4th across the line overall.
In the same race, Stephen Young had a good run, 7th overall in 21:56, and Finbarr O’Dwyer was 8th overall, and 2nd M40.
On Friday evening, Lizzie’s sister Rosaleen was the winner of the Shannonvale 10K in a good time of 38:33. Andrew Sheehan was 2nd in 33:43 in what was a close finish in the men’s race.
