Leevale’s women’s team are well positioned after round 1 of the National Indoor League on Saturday. The team finished 3rd overall, and were boosted by a win for Andrea Bickerdike in the 800m and second-place finishes from Una Samuels in the pole vault and Shona Lowe in the 60m. The men’s team have a little more work to do after finishing 7th on the day. The team scored consistently in all events, but a shortage of 13 and 11-pointers mean that they trail leaders Tallaght by some 13 points going into round 2.
On Sunday an the seniors and masters were in action at the Munsters in Nenagh. Kaodi Ogbene had a good win in the 60m, Finbarr O’Dwyer in the M40 800m, Tim Twomey and Sinéad O’Connor in the M35 and senior ladies 3K.
