County Junior & Senior Country Championships

The County Junior, Senior & Juvenile Uneven age Juvenile Cross Country Championships were held in Conna today. 

In the senior men’s race it was a record 8th victory for Mark Hanrahan. Leevale men finished with the same points as East Cork, however they had to settle for second on countback. Leevale athletes were well grouped towards the front of the field with nine athletes in the top 20: Mark Hoey 4th, Tim Twomey 8th, Conor McCauley 10th,  John Shine 12th, Donal Coakley 14th, Mark Walsh 16th, Michael Bruton 17th & David Fox 19th. 

Charlie O’Donovan was the clear winner in the BU19 & Junior men’s race, leading the Leevale team to victory in both the U19 & junior races. Team: Charlie O’Donovan, Ben Smith, Matt Murnane, Abdi Mohamed, James Mintern & Jack O’Connor.

Alannah Neff  & Rhona Pierce finished second and third respectively in the junior women’s race, leading the Leevale team to victory.  Team; Alannah Neff, Rhona Pierce, Emma Bickerdike & Katlyn Coffey. 

Michelle Finn & Michelle Kenny finished first and second in the Senior Women’s race leading the Leevale Team to victory. Team; Michelle Finn, Michelle Kenny, Andrea Bickerdike, Niamh Roe & Fionnuala Desmond.
