Dave Tierney was the top Leevale performer at the National Senior Championships last weekend. He first won the weight for height with a 4.5m clearance. He followed this with silver in the shot with a putt of 14.54m, before winning the weight for distance with a throw of 8.44m.
Michelle Finn, who has recently qualified to compete at the World Varsities, competed in the women’s 3K steeple chase. Michelle was in great form and was clear of the field and on the way to victory with 700m, when she hit a hurdle and fell heavily. After gathering herself Michelle finished race to take silver.
Lousie Shanahan competed in the women’s 800m, running a strong tactical race to take third in a time of 2:08.57.
Jessica Neville made the final of the women’s 400mH, finishing just outside the medals in 4th place in a time of 1:03.99.
